My very world crumbles...
I choose a people I've never known, I see a God, beyond my own. My heart stirred at these two men, Was I looking for love, or more, in them? Was I looking beyond, a stirring for home, Past these walls that I have known? I may have chosen this life, or maybe it chose me, But perhaps there's a God beyond the ones I can see. Perhaps I need an exodus too, Perhaps it's known in this YAH of Hebrews. I look to the hills, And my expectancy builds, And then they come, And round me drum, And I wait - My life unwound With each passing round. My faith swaying With the scarlet cord in the wind, Until the shouting of Your army Completely undoes me, And simultaneous frees me. Shout to the LORD All the earth, now I hear, And the very rocks must cry out, As this city's wall of great stone Falls flat in a crash; My very world crumbles, But this cord of blood- Red delivers me, Hanging there, for all to see. ~ By Sierra Westerholm Photo by Smit Patel on Unsplash
If you are new here, welcome! This space is for poems, a little sip of beauty in verse, to brighten your day. :)
“Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8) I feel led to keep this publication free to everyone: a gift from God, to me, to you. :) However, if you are visiting, consider subscribing! This keeps the good stuff coming directly your way.
Leaving a comment is literally the bread and butter that warms my heart. I read each one and it makes me feel a little bit more like my shared thoughts matter.
Pressing the heart lets me know you were here, a little “I see you” from your heart, to mine.
And lastly, re-stacking (the swirling arrows icon!) spreads the word and makes this post visible to more people! Just like sliding that magazine to the top of the stack. ;) Bonus points if you restack with a note!

I love this! Love the emotions and imagery
Beautiful, Sierra.
