I don't just want to be "haved", 
Like a chair or a snack, 
Nor just to be held, 
Like a cat in your lap. 
To be loved is, well, better - 
If true love, and not lust, 
But to cherish is best, 
For it puts the rest to the test. 
For to cherish is adore, 
To count dear, and care for.
To love, as treasure to your chest. 
To hold, as the crown you protect. 
To have, as the flesh of your flesh. 
Yes, to cherish is best.
